Meet Reginald. When we first met, he immediately asked if we had any reading glasses. It isn't a request we get every day, so we were curious as to why he had such a need.

He told us, "I lost my job not long ago when my company went out of business. That's why I'm homeless."

The very basic thing holding him back from applying for jobs is that he can't see to read or fill out job applications. He is able-bodied, and told us, "I don't like government help. I don't need it. I like to work."

So we decided to share his need with you to try to raise funds to get him some reading glasses! In the most practical way possible, meeting this basic need for reading glasses will enable Reginald to apply for jobs. In turn, once he secures employment, meeting this need helps enable him to get his own place again and get off of the streets.

Since we can get them inexpensively (max $5 per pair), we hope to not only purchase reading glasses for Reginald but also for others who need them on the streets.
