We are back in action!
On Friday, September 4, we will head to South Dallas with spaghetti suppers donated by Gold's Gym trainer Edward Henson.
Every year, the Highland Park Belles hold a Spaghetti Supper, and both last year and this year, Edward Henson led the way in donating meals for the homeless.
Last year, people were still talking about the spaghetti months later -- that's how good the food is! (They also thought I homemade it. I tried to correct them, but I'm not sure it sunk in.) We took a small group down last year, and anyone is invited to join us this year. See details at the bottom of this post.
We will drop food off in the early evening. What's unique about the timing is that most people who stay in the shelter are already in for the night, so it is an opportunity to bless people who would otherwise not have a sure meal, and they are so appreciative.
Last year, we also were able to donate a few sleeping bags and other items people had given, so if you have anything you want to donate, feel free to bring it with you that evening.
Here are the details:
WHEN: Meet in South Dallas at 6:00 p.m.
Last year, it took about 30 minutes to hand out the meals.
WHERE: 2851 Dawson St., Dallas, TX 75226
We look forward to seeing some of you there! If you need additional information, email us info@thehumanimpact.org
