One of the biggest milestones we celebrate in our friends’ lives is getting housing. It’s a marker of stability to those who have spent the last few years on the streets and in shelters. This past month we have celebrated with our friend Michael as he moved into his apartment. But getting keys to an apartment is only half the battle. Our homeless friends, especially those who have been living in shelters like Michael, live off of what they are able to cram into a bag or two and carry with them. So all those things that make home feel like home are missing when they move into their new place.
We are calling on you, our community, to help meet Michael’s need for a furnished home. The Human Impact has already partnered with BedStart to provide Michael with some much needed furniture—including a bed, a dining room set, coffee tables, lamps and a dresser! We now need help transporting this furniture to Michael’s apartment.
What we need:
Someone with a truck capable of transporting a queen-sized bed and other furniture items.
Strong people who can help us carry the furniture into Michael’s second story apartment.
When:
Saturday, December 15, picking up the furniture from BedStart at 11:00 AM.
