As some of you know, on Saturday, June 21, we will wash the feet of the homeless in South Dallas.
We're calling the day "4Feet" -- here's why:
There are two feet being washed and two feet doing the washing. Although the non-homeless are washing the feet of the homeless, we all have feet that get dirty, and we all need them cleaned. The idea of washing another person’s feet has always been abhorrent to me. The idea of having my own feet washed just a little less abhorrent (mostly because I’m not the one doing the touching of feet).
So you can imagine my own surprise to tell that we are planning to wash the feet of some homeless men and women on Saturday, June 21. By some, I mean whomever comes – be it one person or one hundred.
